The Evolving Function of Accounting in the Healthcare Sector

The industry of health care is one that is experiencing expansion. This study examines the role of accounting in health care cost savings and quality management by an integrated information system. This study investigates the changing role of accounting in health care. Health care has long considered itself operationally unique. In all countries, health care costs have steadily risen, usually faster than the CPI, consuming a larger portion of GDP (GNP). Understanding the appropriate performance measurement system for healthcare processes is essential to implementing the most suitable and effective system or method to reduce operational costs in healthcare organizations. This study introduces Supply Chain Management (SCM), the role of Information Systems (IS), the latest trend of Electronic health (E-health), and an integrated approach to healthcare Total Quality Management (TQM).
